Reiki Calm Relax Rejuvenate

The speed of everyday life, the stresses, strains and call on our time mean that we can feel as though we’re being pulled in lots of different directions. It’s not often that we can sit and take time out just for our self.

Illness wears us down while to do lists pile on top of existing stress. Our outward persona isn’t always in balance with inner thoughts, needs and beliefs. Illness, disease, pain and the side effects of medication all bear down on us while we worry and stress about issues large and small.

Reiki can help bring balance to mind, body and emotions, encouraging relaxations and supporting positive personal choices. It works on the physical body and the electrical or auric system to correct imbalances as well as working on the mind and emotions.

It uses what the Japanese call ki energy, otherwise known as universal energy. It’s this same energy which is referred to in acupuncture, tai chi and yoga.

What is Reiki

Reiki is a complementary therapy using natural healing energy which has long been recognised in Eastern medicine. Otherwise referred to as chi in China, prana in India and ki in Japan, the word reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) meaning Universal Life and (Ki) which means Energy.

The modern practice of Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th Century. The methods, which have been passed down directly from him, enable this energy to flow with intent to wherever it is most needed. It encourages relaxation and brings balance to body, mind and emotions. It is a gentle, yet powerful, therapy which can be used alongside conventional medicine.

It is non-invasive therapy, the body isn’t manipulated in any way and no pressure is applied. During a treatment, my hands will be placed gently on or above your body enabling the energy to flow unrestricted while you lie on a couch or sit in a chair – whichever is the most comfortable for you.

About Me

I am a Usui / Holy Fire Reiki practitioner and teacher, and have been using Reiki on a regular basis since February 2017 and set up as a professional practitioner in February 2019.

I have been involved with energy work for the past 20 years and have received treatments from a number of complementary therapists. I like Reiki because of its gentle yet powerful non-invasive nature.
